So I havent updated this in awhile but I do have big new plans. Im starting an internet radio station, more info will come soon but im planning to have it up sometime this month.

Really Busy

So I did not anticipate to be this busy this summer but I still want to do a lot of music projects. We are only in week two and I plan to get a fair amount of work done this week.

Point White is Out

The conclusion to the Haunt series is finally out! It is called Point White and is by far one of my favorite and in my opinion most mature songs that I’ve created. I added elements of free form Jazz and used orchestra instruments exclusively to create a trance like atmosphere. Enjoy the last song in my Haunt project, tomorrow I start Colors. Listen

Point White is Coming

Point White is almost finished and I will be uploading it tomorrow. I’m not sure where to start to explain this one and I will leave most of the descriptions until tomorrow but I want to let you in on some behind the scenes stuff. This song came very easily to me and if you might see if you look at the producer kit that it contains very few tracks. It was a very simple song and comprised mainly of software instruments it is very different from my other works but I plan to continue making music similar to this style.

Whats the big idea?

I know I haven’t posted in what seems like forever. This summer I promise I will be tethered to this blog though. I don’t think I’ll have the song done before I head to New York for the summer but no worries, I’m bringing my equipment with me. A speaking of equipment did you know when I updated the site I added an ongoing list of all my equipment I don’t think it will all fit in a carry on. I also have plans for Media Press 3.0 which should be released at the end of summer, I will update you later about what changes I plan for version 3.0.

Accessibility Problems in the 21st Century

Lately as I’m trying to create music and update my website and finish up school work for the end of the year I have realized that I am becoming to accessible. People are able to get a hold of me too easily with the rise of the internet and text messaging. The other day I was working on a song late at night and someone sent me an IM, of course iChat chirped reminding me that I have an unread IM, so I close the instant message and continued my work. I then receive another IM from the person exclaiming that they I know I’m on there and they want to shoot the breeze. This person continues to message me becoming more and more upset that I’m not answering them and me becoming so annoyed to the point that I close iChat and try to finish my work. This is no isolated incident; I receive text messages and messages on my social networks all the time that I simply do not have time to answer. I’m starting to treat these like my email inbox, I will reply to them when I have the chance but I really have things I need to get done, people don’t seem to understand that I’m not available at their every beckoning call. There comes a point where I hit the hard switch on my laptop that kills the WIFI and I finally try to finish my work. Otherwise I feel like I’m just treading water, I go nowhere and get nothing done. Does the internet revolution require new time and social management skills? Are we as a whole becoming to accessible?

Substance

The next song is finally available, after two weeks of work I created the perfect collaboration of several programs to create the unique new song Substance.

Back!

I am finally back after a small set back because of my laptop dying. Luckily it is all fixed and the next song is close to being finished. I expect the next song “Substance” to be out this weekend. And with any luck the next (and final) song of the Haunt series will be done before summer break.

Aftermath

Media Press 2.0 has hit and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I am re-uploading a much higher quality version of Music Maker TV so if you have no idea how to remix this music “Music Maker TV” will show you how to do it for free on any computer, it should be done uploading soon but its a relatively large file. Notice the headline at the top of the page? (Creation is free). I’ve decided to propose a new headline for my venture, “Media Press TV: Home of Mediocre Content”. Seriously I’m working hard on this stuff and it’s a learning experience for me but please stick with me through these early days. Website Update

With the exception of episode one of Music Maker TV the move to version 2 of the website is complete. Almost every page has been overhauled, the toolbox is complete, and the “about us” page has been renamed to “information” and has been revamped. Also the video page has been updated and will host the first episode of Music Maker TV tonight, and the music page has been expanded and now includes the “Betas” project which I plan to expand on soon. Once the video is finished uploading I will post it on the website, enjoy the new content. (Note: there may be some bugs in the version of the website if you find any in particular please notify me at mediapresstv@gmail.com)
